From the humble FamiCom to the Nintendo Wii, those platforms are really worth owning and playing at. But, the focal point of this article is to discuss about the Wii U.

The Wii U, the next generation Nintendo Wii is a strange beast of a gaming console. There are a lot of things that you can like about it. Just take a look at the Wii U’s controller. The Wii U’s controller, also known as the “Gamepad”, actually has a touchscreen embedded on the controller itself.

The display on the touchscreen is exactly what is displayed on the TV. So, if you just want to play and chill for a while without having to turn on the television, then the Nintendo Wii U’s gamepad is something to admire.

To add to the gamepad’s functionality, you can also use it as a remote control for your TV. With just a few tweaks, you can control your TV by just using the GamePad. Pretty awesome feature, right?

The Wii U is an awesome gaming console, but one may think that you do not need a TV to play Wii U games. Actually, you will still need a TV to play some games because there are games out there that will utilize both the TV and the touchscreen’s interface. But, for most games, you can pretty much play the game on the Wii U instead of the TV to save some energy.

As for the hardware specifications, the Wii U is powered by a tri-core IBM CPU and a GPU that has a codename of “Latte”. This GPU is based on AMD’s R700 architecture, which is a pretty old architecture. It is surprising that Nintendo opted for an almost ancient hardware for its GPU, but Nintendo has been notorious when it comes to their choice of hardware.

The Wii U is pretty much a low-profile gaming console that barely takes up space, compared to its other competitors, the Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Although, the Wii U doesn’t have an all too powerful hardware encased inside, the console performs well enough to deliver 3D games with a stunning visual vibrancy. Just take a look at some games for example. If you play Zelda on the Wii U, you will be greeted with a nice atmosphere full of vibrant colors and textures.

This is what is amazing about the console; it doesn’t have powerful specs, but it does offer a stunning visual and gaming performance. There are also a lot of Nintendo Wii U exclusive games out there, which we will discuss in future articles.

So, is the Wii U worth it? Well, hardware-wise, it may not be a powerful gaming console as compared to other console giants out there, but it does have a line-up of games that are truly enjoyable to play.

If you want to buy a Wii U, you may be well off buying one of their bundles. Each Wii U Bundle (which includes the Wii U console, a game, and all other goodies) are priced at $300.
